Schedule 2 cross-references three variables: hazard level (low/medium/high), workers per shift, and distance to medical care (close ≤20 min, distant 20-40 min, isolated >40 min). The tables then set the number and level of first aiders (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, advanced-care paramedic or nurse). One first aider from 2 workers up; requirements rise with headcount, hazard and remoteness.

Online training is recognized in Alberta; the practical portion of CSA levels is normally in person (blended format accepted).

- Since March 31, 2023, Alberta fully adopted CSA Z1210-17 and Z1220-17; the former Emergency/Standard/Advanced labels became Basic/Intermediate/Advanced.
- The three hazard levels × three distance categories (close/distant/isolated) create a particularly detailed sizing matrix.
- Recertification is available before expiry; after expiry, the full course must be retaken.

本课程为期16小时的急救培训符合CSA Z1210-17标准，专为医疗保健专业人员设计。培训结束后，学员将获得为期两年的有效认证，满足CSA Z1210-17标准中「中级急救培训」的要求。相关能力每年更新一次，培训须每两年续期一次以保持认证有效。本课程专为护士设计，可加强长期护理中心（CHSLD）及其他护理环境中受益人的安全。
确实需要“工作场所急救”证书？
该特定法定证书必须在立法机构处完整完成：Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Immigration)。
Employers must ensure first aiders complete training from an Alberta OHS-approved agency (published government list), and any instructor must be certified by an approved agency. A non-approved provider cannot issue a valid certificate.
