First Aid & CPR Alberta
In Alberta, supportive-living accommodations and continuing-care homes provide housing and personal care to seniors and vulnerable adults. To keep residents safe, these settings expect front-line staff who can respond to a medical emergency with first aid and CPR.
Supportive-living accommodations and continuing-care homes, regulated under the Continuing Care Act, staffed by Health Care Aides (HCA).
Health Care Aide programs and supportive-living/continuing-care employers in Alberta generally require completion of CPR and first-aid certification, so that care staff can respond to residents in a medical emergency. The precise expectation is set by the program and the employer rather than by a single provincial statute.
A recognized, up-to-date first-aid/CPR certificate is the commonly accepted way to meet this expectation; it is in addition to the aide's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
我们严格遵循 ILCOR(International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation)的建议,该国际机构负责对全球复苏标准进行科学评估与制定。
